Notes/Opinion

Welcome to our Website. The main purpose of the site is to present some general information about the nature and scope of the professional services we provide.

Our Role

Our main role is to help in the creation of urban and regional environments of the highest quality.

Who We Are

SHRAPNEL URBAN PLANNING is an independent planning firm based in Perth, Western Australia. It was established by Tony Shrapnel in 1986 following considerable experience in town planning and project management both in Australia and internationally.

We aim to provide clients with professional regional and town planning services of the highest quality. Since its inception, the firm has successfully completed numerous commissions, both large and small, for a wide range of government and private sector clients.

The style of the firm's operation is "hands on". All professional work, regardless of project size, is carried out by one or both of the principals. Support staff are used only for basic research, drafting and administrative work. This approach ensures that clients receive a consistently high level of professional expertise and service.

We network effectively and many of our projects involve participation in teams that may comprise managers, engineers, landscape architects and other related urban planning and design professionals. We like to work this way as it enables us to be involved in major planning and development projects, while still allowing us to keep our firm small and efficient.
